The procmail script that uses stochastic informatics, (information-theoretic stuff,) to reduce the amount of spam e-mail users receive has its own web page now: http://www.johncon.com/john/StochasticUCEDetection/ At: http://www.johncon.com/john/StochasticUCEDetection/#Theory you will find that it uses the same concepts as tsinvest; the way the procmail script reduces the chance of a false positive in spam detection is identical to the way tsinvest allocates resources. Interestingly, the probability that a message is spam isn't even used-its the evaluation of risk that makes it work. John BTW, correctly set up and maintained, its about 2 sigma, (about 98%,) effective, too-with virtually no chance of a false positive. -- John Conover, john@email.johncon.com, http://www.johncon.com/
