Subject: Concern about the US GDP?
Date: 8 Feb 2002 08:40:26 -0000
As of today, the page: http://www.johncon.com/john/correspondence/990905134341.23530.html became the most downloaded page in the history of the site. For the first time, US GDP stuff surpassed all the equity market stuff. Interestingly, the forth most downloaded page was: http://www.johncon.com/john/correspondence/990215192020.29398.html which shows a peculiar psychology-people are concerned more about the magnitude of recessions than their duration. (I wonder why?) John BTW, the intervening two pages in the top 4 were about abstract equity characteristics-but ran about a third the number of recent hits, each, in recent months. There is a lot of research being done on the two pages listed above-judging by the personal correspondence I get. Applying information-theoretic optimizations to stochastic systems seems to have become a vogue subject in economics these days. -- John Conover, john@email.johncon.com, http://www.johncon.com/
