Don't forget. This Saturday (Feb 24 is our hike at Forest of Nisene
Marks. Meet at Adrianne's at 8AM to carpool or drive to Santa Cruz
and head south toward Aptos on Highway 1. Turn left on State Park
Drive, right on Soquel Dr., and watch for Aptos Creek Road. Meet at
the parking lot on the right side of Aptos Creek Road at 9AM. Don't
forget dry clothes, especially shoes and socks we'll be creek walking

March hikes:
Saturday March 10 Pinnacles National Monument. East of the Salinas
Valley in the remains of an ancient volcano, Pinnacles National
Monument consists of 24,000 acres of unique land renowned for the
beauty and variety of its spring wildflowers. It is spectacular in its
vistas of spires, sheer-walled canyons, massive monoliths, and talus
passages resulting from years of tectonic plate movement. Open
year-round, it is divided by hiking trails into East and West
districts. Our hike will be from the East district which is accessed
from the town of Hollister. DIRECTIONS: South on 101 to Hollister,
south of the city turn onto highway 25, then go west on highway
146. Meeting times and carpool arrangements to be determined.
Saturday March 24 Mid Peninsula Regional Open Space District trail
walking. Meet at Marilyn and Roger's to start and end the
hike. Description and destination tbd.
Save these April dates: Saturday April 7 and Saturday April (Easter is
April 15)
